18 November 2015 – According to First Utility, the UK’s largest and fastest growing independent energy supplier, the majority of Britain’s boilers are turned up from 18 November, marking a significant spike in heating usage as we enter winter[1]. However, despite this being the time of year when we rely on our boilers to keep us warm, an estimated 170,000 homes in Manchester report boiler breakdowns each year.[2]

At an average cost of £391 per boiler repair, an estimated £66m[3] was spent on emergency boilers repairs last winter.

Now is the time to get boilers inspected, insured and winter-ready. As such, First Utility and the AA, one of the UK’s most trusted brands[4], have teamed up to offer discounted boiler and homecare cover to all First Utility customers.

The new partnership means that existing and new First Utility customers can benefit from the peace of mind of being covered in case of unexpected and costly home heating emergencies, saving time, money and hassle.

First Utility customers can get a discount of up to 22% on AA boiler and homecare services.
